Stine.
I am a visual artist working primarily with oil pastels on cardboard, alongside textile-based works and painting, often creating character-driven universes.
My visual language is playful yet intentional, balancing the naive and the poetic, where humor and vulnerability coexist. Through my work, I explore identity, belonging and transformation.
I primarily use recycled materials in their original form, allowing traces and textures to remain visible so their previous life becomes part of the expression.
Having lived and worked in Los Angeles for six years, with commissioned work in New York, my perspective is shaped by diverse cultural contexts.

Statement.
I experience the world visually. Ideas often arrive as images, characters or unexpected combinations of things, and I feel a strong urge to bring them into existence.
My work is driven by curiosity, humor and the freedom to experiment. I enjoy creating playful, sometimes absurd universes where familiar things take on unexpected forms and personalities.
I am not bound by conventions or by what I already know how to make. An idea might lead me towards painting, cardboard, textiles or sculpture, sometimes using techniques I have never explored before. I allow the idea to determine the medium, rather than the other way around.
My process is intuitive but visually considered. I am drawn to the imperfect, the awkward and the unexpected, finding a balance between humor and vulnerability, spontaneity and intention.
